Hell yeah! He almost got his big chance in "Giant Monsters All-Out Attack", had the studio heads not demanded friggin' Mothra.

Yeah, after searching around the net, I've learned Varan was SUPPOSED to star in MANY Toho films over the years but kept losing his spot to other more popular monsters. I mean, personally, as much as I liked watching Mothra get blown away by Godzilla in that movie, I really would have rather seen Varan, an obscure classic kaiju that hasn't been seen in years, just cuz its new and different (it worked for Baragon after all). And as for Ghidorah...Sorry, I CANNOT buy him as a "good guy guardian monster," he's supposed to be a destroyer of worlds or a living weapon of mass destruction, plain & simple.

Toho needs to make better use of their extensive roster of kaiju both old and new in order to keep fans interested and avoid things getting stale.
